The Christmas Picnic!

Christmas Picnic

Because picnics are AWESOME.

It was this past Sunday, 22 Dec, that Superfly friends and students got together for a chill out session over at West Coast Park!

The idea was super simple: Just come over, bring food and drinks, and enjoy!

We took Keann’s suggestion, and as most of us had never been in West Coast Park, we decided to explore and have the Gathering there!

An enormous grass field, that was being shared by all types of enthusiasts, from bird trainers to master kite flyers, families and dogs, everybody was hanging at that place, despite the cloudy, but very hot weather (Singapore does not forgive :P)

We met up with Keann at Haw Par Villa MRT, and proceeded to get the bus that took us practically to our spot. Nice and comfortable ride!

The afternoon was spent having interesting chats, exploring the surroundings, climbing trees, the big Pyramid, all the playground stuff, what can we say…Parkour people just won’t stand still!

As more friends came over, the rest of the meeting was a mix of football, cards, kite fly attempts, dance moves and kite gazing. As it got darker, it certainly got us fascinated, with all the neon colours shining in patterns from the sci-fi kites!

And so, to finish off the gathering , a last pit stop was made at McDonalds to chill, eat, and listen to some good ska that kept the good mood!

Thanks to all those who made it down!

We look forward to seeing everyone again in the New Year!

About Keann C.

More than anything else, Keann Chong believes in living life. He was fascinated one day when he climbed up on a roof and realised that he could spend the longest time up here in plain view, looking down, because it was perfectly natural that nobody would look up, out of their daily schedule and commute. Some time after, he discovered parkour when invited to a beginner’s workshop conducted by the local community in Bishan. More than a movement and a way to keep fit - it is also his personal way of saying “I am not afraid of life” and “I choose to live in possibility”. This streetdance and parkour student is very interested in learning how to combine both his passions to put form to his feeling - he believes that the way you move is very much an expression and reflection of who you are.
